COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 5 Maryland women's lacrosse team put together a stellar second-half rally to down No. 14 Boston College 16-10 Saturday at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

Karri Ellen Johnson led all Maryland (7-2, 2-1 ACC) scorers with four goals. Junior Katie Schwarzmann and freshman Kelly McPartland each picked up a hat trick as the attack tallied more than 15 goals for the second straight game. After winning only one draw in the first half, the Terps dominated the category in the second half, winning the battle 13-6.

Boston College (4-4, 1-1 ACC) struck first in the match after a six-minute stall tactic. An undeterred Maryland squad kept its composure, notching a devastating 5-0 run until BC was able to squeeze in a pair of goals in the final 50 seconds of the half.

Schwarzmann took charge in the second period, tallying all three of her goals in the stanza. Johnson and Schwarzmann, both Tewaaraton Watch List nominees, combined for 10 draw controls in the final 30 minutes to help Maryland control possession and outscore the Eagles 11-7.

Alex Aust and Brooke Griffin added two goals each. Schwarzmann added three caused turnovers.

"What a great win for our program over a strong ACC opponent," head coach Cathy Reese said. "We are excited about a lot of things coming out of today. We have a lot of things we need to work on but pleased with our performance."

The Terps cap their four-game homestand Tuesday against Stony Brook at 6 p.m.
