No. 12 Field Hockey Defeats Towson

COLLEGE PARK, Md.- Sophomore back Molly Kauffman (West Lawn, Pa.), freshman midfielder Caroline Walter (Reilingen, Germany) and senior forward Kasey Heiser (Schaefferstown, Pa.) each scored a goal, leading No. 12 Maryland (4-1) to a 3-0 win over Towson (3-0) tonight at the Astro Turf Facility.

Kauffman scored the only goal of the first half, and Walter and Heiser each got their goals in the second half. The Terps got a shared shutout from freshman goalie Angela Platt (Coleraine, Northern Ireland) and sophomore goalie Zoe Ehrlich.

Maryland's next game is against No. 16 American in the first round of the Terrapin Invitational on Saturday.
