Field Hockey Blows Past Pennsylvania

College Park, Md. - Freshman midfielder Caroline Walter (Reilingen, Germany) scored three goals, leading seventh-ranked Maryland (12-5) past Pennsylvania (6-6) 5-1 tonight.

Walter scored all of her goals in the first half as the Terps raced out to a 4-0 halftime advantage. Sophomore back Molly Kauffman (West Lawn, Pa.) scored Maryland's other first half goal.

Junior forward Emily Ward (Ellicott City, Md.) scored her first career goal early in the second half to extend the Terps' lead to 5-0. Junior forward Courtney Martin scored the lone Quaker goal late in the second half.

Maryland's next game is against Temple on Friday at 6 p.m.
