COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland softball team will take on former Terrapin stars in the second annual Alumni Softball game Sunday, Oct. 19. Game time is set for noon at the Terrapin Softball Complex.
The Terps of yesteryear will try to avenge their 2-1 loss to last year's varsity team in this fall's match-up. So far, Kelly Shipman (Class of '99), Cortney Madea (Class of '00), Sara Putnam (Class of '00), Janet Richmond (Class of '00), Annmarie Browne (Class of '01), current assistant coach Michelle Burrell (Class of '01), Jennifer Potzman (Class of '01), Jen Shellhammer (Class of '01), Kiesha Pickeral (Class of '02), Beth Radford (Class of '02), Danielle Carpenter (Class of '02) and Jillian Callaway (Class of '03) will take the field for the alumni team. These twelve players hold 32 Maryland softball records. Their names appear in the the top ten all-time record lists 78 times and in the top ten single season record lists 101 times.
The 2004 Maryland team will play its next set of home fall games at the Saturday, Oct. 18 against Towson at 2 p.m. and UMBC at 4 p.m.
