COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland softball team won all four of its games over the weekend with hits coming from many Terps and strong pitching from junior Kerry Hickey and freshman Lexi Carroll. The Terrapins closed out their fall schedule with strong performances from all over the field.

Maryland got off to a hot start in the first game on Saturday and shut out Towson, 7-0. Hickey pitched a no-hitter and recorded 11 strikeouts. Freshman Nikki Maier hit a two RBI home run, while freshman Samantha Mallory drew two walks and hit a double. Senior Nadine Blackie, the Terps' runs leader last year, went 2-3 in the game and had one stolen base.

Carroll pitched in game two of the day, a 10-8 win over Mount St. Mary's. She struck out two Mount batters in the game. Sophomore Kathy McLaughlin went 2-2 with a triple, a single and two walks. Maier hit another double and pulled in three RBI. Senior Alex Schultz hit a home run and collected two RBI.

On Sunday, the Terps took the field first against Delaware State. Once again, Maryland's hitters had a productive day as four Terps had hits. McLaughlin went 2-3 with one walk, Schultz went 2-3 with an RBI and Blackie went 1-2 with a sacrifice fly and two stolen bases. Sophomore Vangie Galindo hit a triple and drew two walks in the 7-5 win.

In their tournament finale, the Terrapins topped George Washington 7-3. McLaughlin stayed hot at the plate, going 3-4 with one RBI. Junior Lauren Ghent went 3-3 with an RBI. Hickey and Carroll combined for both wins on Sunday.
