College Park, Md.--Sophomore midfielder Lorraine Vizzuso scored twice, leading Virginia (18-4) to a 5-1 victory over host Maryland (16-6) in a NCAA Field Hockey Tournament second round game today. The Cavaliers advance to next week's Final Four in Philadelphia, Pa., where they will square off against Old Dominion on Friday at 5 p.m.

"I'm just very happy with the way my team played," said Virginia head coach Missi Sanders, "They played the best game I've seen them play all year. Hopefully we'll continue with that next weekend."

"Virginia played with tremendous speed," said Maryland head coach Missy Meharg. "I think their attitude couldn't have been more championship-contention level."

The Terps, who defeated Virginia 1-0 in the ACC finals last Sunday, got an unassisted goal from sophomore midfielder Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.) 4:46 into the game. The Cavaliers, however, responded with goals from Vizzuso and Laura Lindsay to go up 2-1 at the half.

In the second half, the Cavaliers scored three times within 11:52 to seal their second consecutive trip to the final four. Also scoring for Virginia in the second half were senior forward Melissa Hayes and junior forward Meredith Elwell.
