MIAMI, Fla. - The University of Maryland softball team dropped its first game on day two of the Golden Panthers adidas Tournament to Stony Brook, 1-0. The Terrapins will await the final score of the Michigan State vs. Florida International game to determine who they will take on in bracket play.

The game was scoreless until the top of the seventh inning when Stony Brook's first baseman Kristen Brust hit a solo home run to right field. Maryland starter Elyse Lucas (Newbury, Ohio) gave up two hits and struck out nine in the loss. The home run gave Stony Brook its first run scored and home run of the season. Stony Brook's starter Angela Andrews gave up one hit and struck out two for her first win of the season.
