#1 We Have the Best Fans in College Soccer

Maryland’s record attendance on Friday against Duke was spectacular and the support shown by the Crew on Thursday night was also astonishing.

A total of 8,397 fans (not including all those who were unable to get in because the crowd had reached capacity) came out to cheer for the Terps as it defeated the rival Blue Devils 3-1 in what may be the final showing between the two programs at Ludwig Field.

Another 1,800 folks showed up on Thursday for a meet-and-greet and scarf giveaway.

To steal a number from the Crew itself, I believe the chant goes something like  - 'We’ve got the bessssssst fans in the land…We’ve got the bessssssst fans in the land…'

#2 Tsubasa is Tspecial

The sophomore stole the show on Friday night, shifting the momentum with an equalizing score early in the second half and then providing a pair of assists to senior Helge Leikvang and Patrick Mullins for the final two goals.

Endoh – a native of Tokyo, Japan - has started in all four games for Maryland this season.

#3 Maryland is Pretty Darn Good at Ludwig

An uncharacteristic defeat to VCU on Sunday allows us to provide a little perspective to just how infrequently Maryland loses in the friendly confines of Ludwig Field.

Prior to Sunday, Maryland had not lost a regular season match at home since Sept. 3, 2010. That season, the Terps fell to future Big Ten opponent Michigan State in a wild match in which the Terps netted three goals late in the second half in a matter of 13 minutes.  The Spartans tallied an equalizer with 54 seconds left in regulation and then posted the game-winner in overtime.

The Terps spend two weeks on the road before returning to Ludwig for a midweek match against Old Dominion Sept. 24.
