EUGENE, Ore. - Thea LaFond broke her second personal record of the weekend and earned All-America honors thanks to her performance in the high jump at the NCAA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday evening.
LaFond had her second top ten performance of the weekend by placing eighth in high jump on Saturday. On her third and final attempt at clearing 6-0 she finally made it over the bar to secure the top ten finish.
Senior Moriah Young finished her Maryland career with a strong showing in shot put. On her first throw of the day Young was good for a throw of 48'11. 5'', which earned her 23rd place overall.
LaFond also earned Maryland a team point that ties the team for 61st overall in the team standings.
