As a Freshman in 2010: Played in 17 games during her rookie season...Maryland's top defender off the bench...came up with a vital interception in the closing minutes of the Terps' national championship contest against Northwestern (5/30)...concluded that match with a career-high five draw controls while adding two caused turnovers and a ground ball...picked up two ground balls and a career-high three caused turnovers in the ACC semifinals against Virginia (4/23)...had two draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 20-8 rout of Stanford (3/25)...finished the season with 17 ground balls, 14 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers despite missing three games due to a knee injury in early May.

Prep: Sanza won 12 letters while enrolled at St. Paul's School for Girls, four apiece in soccer, basketball and lacrosse... three-time captain in soccer and served as a captain for basketball as a lacrosse, First Team All-American, all-metro, all-county, IAAM All-Star as senior...2008 Tewaaraton Watch List...second team all-metro as a junior while leading high school in caused turnovers and groundballs...ranked #12 in Inside Lacrosse Top Rising Freshman Poll...first team all-county in soccer as well as IAAM All-Star...also an IAAM All-Star pick in hoops.

Personal: Daughter of Jose and Griselda Sanza...has one sister, Lidia...lists her favorite athlete as NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens because of his athletic ability and confident personality...went on a community service trip to Honduras while enrolled at St. Paul's...chose Maryland because she has "always been a Maryland athletics fan and it was just my dream school"...undecided on major.
