ROSEMONT, Ill. – 15 student-athletes from the University of Maryland men's basketball, women's basketball, gymnastics and wrestling programs were named Big Ten Winter All-Academic selections in a release made by the conference offices Wednesday afternoon.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Terps are represented by men's basketball (3), women's basketball (3), gymnastics (6) and wrestling (3).
The Big Ten recognized a total of 872 students who competed in winter sports from all 14 member institutions (track & field is acknowledged in the spring).
