Eastern Illinois tied the game up in the top of the seventh with a two-run homer. After the Terrapins couldn’t score in the seventh, the game went into extras.

With tournament rules calling for a runner to start on second in extra innings, Denhart used three groundouts to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. In the bottom half, sophomore Kassidy Cross caused an error, putting runners on second and third. With one out, Brashear would win it, scoring the tiebreaking runner to give Maryland a 3-2 win.

GAME TWO - Box Score

For the second straight day, Maryland defeated IUPUI, this time by a 5-1 advantage. Brigette Nordberg, Amanda Brashear and Shelby Younkin all notched two hits, while Sydney Golden threw 5.1 innings of one-run ball before Ryan Denhart came in to close out the final two frames.

As she did in the first game, Taylor Wilson started off the Maryland go-ahead inning with a double in the bottom of the fourth. After sophomore Lauren Graves singled to shortstop, Younkin came through with a timely two-out, two-run single to give the Terps a 2-0 lead.

A sacrifice fly by Wilson followed Nordberg and Brashear singles to add an additional run in the fifth.
