Ben Hoffman joined the University of Maryland in the spring of 2017 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Olympic sports. He is primarily responsible for Men’s and Women’s Soccer.

Before coming to Maryland, Ben was a sports performance coach at Georgetown University where he oversaw the sports performance programs for Men’s soccer, Women’s Soccer, and Track & Field / Cross Country. He also assisted with Football, Men’s Lacrosse, Rowing and various other programs.

Prior to starting at Georgetown, Ben had stops at Webber international University, Valdosta St. University, and the University of Houston. At WIU he worked directly with women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, and softball programs, while assisting with football. Before WIU, he worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Valdosta State University where he oversaw the strength and conditioning program for women’s soccer and assisted with both football and baseball. Prior to VSU, he volunteered with the University of Houston’s sport performance department and taught undergraduate physical education classes.

A native of Houston, Texas, Hoffman received his MEd. from the University of Houston in 2010 and his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Southwestern University in 2008, where he was a 4-year member of the soccer team. He is certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting, and Functional Movement Systems. He also holds soccer coaching licenses from US Soccer and the National Soccer Coaches Association.
