ROSEMONT, Ill. – Maryland placed 57 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big Ten team, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon. The Terrapins have representation from each of their six fall teams.

“The academic achievements of our Maryland student-athletes this past semester make all of us extremely proud,” director of athletics Kevin Anderson said. “The excellence these students showed in the classroom and on the field is a tribute to their hard work and dedication. They are all extremely deserving of this honor.”

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Terps are represented by field hockey (10), football (15), women's cross country (12), men's soccer (4), women's soccer (11) and volleyball (5) on the academic all-conference list.

The Big Ten recognized 1,015 student-athletes who competed in fall sports from all 14 member institutions.
