As a Freshman (2016-17): Had a standout redshirt season, finishing 26-7 in open tournament competition at 125 pounds…26 wins led the team…won 11 matches by way of bonus points…National Collegiate Open Champion (2/26)…Franklin & Marshall Open Champion (1/7)…placed in six tournaments…finished season on 10-match win streak…took third at the Southeast Open, finishing 4-1 in his first collegiate tournament (11/6)… advanced to the final of the Bearcat Open, majoring two opponents while pinning Michael Russo (Brown) in sudden victory in the semifinals (11/13)…won a match at the Wolfpack Open (11/20)…went 5-0 at the F&M Open to win 125-pound title, beating American’s Gage Curry in the final (1/7)…won two matches at the Shorty Hitchcock Open (1/14)…won four straight matches at the Messiah Open to place third (2/4)…won two matches to take second at Warriors Winter Open before medically forfeiting (2/14)…rattled off four wins, including a pin over NC State’s Charles Lenox in the semis to claim National Collegiate Open crown (2/26).    

Before Maryland: 2015 & 2016 Times of Trenton Wrestler of the Year...2015 Colonial Valley Conference (CVC) Wrestler of the Year...2x NJ State Champion...won NJ state title at 113 pounds in 2015...captured second NJ state title as a senior at 120 pounds...No. 6 prospect in the nation at 120 pounds according to InterMat Wrestling...won the first state title in Steinert wrestling history and only the third ever for Mercer County…only two-time NJ state champion in Mercer County history...Super 32 place winner...three-time Region 7 and District 25 champion...finished senior season 2015-16 lightweight to watch...finished fourth in the state at 106 pounds as a sophomore.

Personal: Son of Todd and Debbie Cray...has an older sister Taylor...chose Maryland for the coaching staff, teammates, proximity to home, academics and Big Ten affiliation...biggest accomplishment is becoming the first wrestler to win a state title at his high school...majoring in economics.
