As a freshman (2016): Appeared in one game, making collegiate debut at Princeton (3/12).
Before Maryland: Won a pair of New York state titles at Chaminade High School … a two-time NSCHSAA All-League selection in 2014 and 2015 … ranked the 82nd overall recruit in the 2015 class and 27th overall midfielder by Inside Lacrosse … also starred in football and basketball … won five total NSCHSAA Championships (2 lacrosse, 2 basketball, 1 football) … a two-time NSCHSAA All-League selection in basketball … a 1000-point scorer in basketball … played club lacrosse for Long Island Express.
Personal: Parents are Tim and Tara O'Connell … born in Mineola, New York … has a younger brother, Michael, who is also a talented lacrosse player … member of the National Honors Society … graduated with a 3.50 GPA … majoring in finance in the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Reason for coming to Maryland: To win championships.
