As a Junior (2017): Appeared in 18 games with 15 starts, mainly at defensive midfield...Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree...after missing the Terps contest with Cal Poly (9/4) he played every minute of the season...made his first start of the season against No. 3 Indiana (9/8) after three appearances as a substitute to start the year...helped the Terps notch nine total shutouts and start the season 10-0-3. 

As a Sophomore (2016): Played in every match for the Terps, earning starts in 13 for a backline that matched a school-record with five consecutive shutouts (9/23-10/10)...Maryland posted an unbeaten regular season (16-0-2), posted a school-record 15-game winning streak and captured a third-straight Big Ten Tournament title.

As a Freshman (2015): Has appeared in all 16 games...contributed to a 0-0 tie against #4 Notre Dame (8/28...helped Maryland defeat #1 UCLA in a 2-1 victory (9/4)...contributed to 4-1 win over Wisconsin (9/27)....part of eight shutouts on the year including St. John's (8/30), Michigan (9/11), Navy (9/14), Michigan State (9/18), Villanova (10/5), Indiana (10/16) and #17 Washington (10/23).

Before Maryland: First Team All-State…played for Clearwater Chargers Development Academy U-18s…played for former Terrapin Doug Smith at Tampa Preparatory School…won two state championships in 2012 and 2013 with the Terrapins…three-time All-County selection.

Personal: Andrew Samuels was born on May 15, 1997….son of Yvonne Samuels…hobbies include fishing and boating…chose Maryland for the “beautiful campus, good academics and coaches and team”…undecided on major.
