COLLEGE PARK, Md. - With the Maryland football team set to begin its season against James Madison on Saturday, the University of Maryland Athletics Department is excited to announce its A-Z Gameday Guide that will enhance the gameday experience for Terrapin fans this season.
A is for @TerpsGameday: @TerpsGameday the official twitter account for all information on Maryland Terrapins gameday. Fans can also text “terpsgameday” to 888777 for up to date game day information.
B is for BTN: The first two home games against James Madison and West Virginia will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. BTN’s GameFinder feature (www.BTN.com/GameFinder) allows you to input your zip code and cable provider to learn your BTN channel.
C is for CHAIRBACKS: Personal seat cushions or chair backs are welcome at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium, but chair backs with arms are no longer permitted. D is for DAS: Increased cellular coverage should be expected during the 2014 football season as an investment into a neutral host DAS began installation during the early summer months.
E is for EARLY: Traffic on a metropolitan university is often a challenge, but the University of Maryland is asking you to take advantage of the opportunity for a great pre-game atmosphere and arrive early. With construction occurring on Campus Drive, it is important to listen to traffic control officers and to refer to the parking maps found on your parking permit for the best way to access your lot.
F is for FLAG: The tradition will continue at Capital One Field at Byrd stadium each home game as a giant Maryland Flag will descend from the student section in the first quarter.
G is for GIGANTIC: The Maryland Concessions team has been cooking up some creative new menu items including the "Chessie", a gigantic soft pretzel baked with back fin crab dip and melted cheese (serves 4). Click here for all concession information.
H is for HOMECOMING: Think B1G with the Terps at the 2014 Homecoming game set for Saturday, October 18th as the Terrapins take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at Noon.
I is for INFANTS: A new infant admission policy has been established to parallel the Big Ten Conference rule. Everyone regardless of age will need a ticket for admission. Children two (2) years of age and under will be provided with a lap ticket at the admission gate. They must be seated in the lap of a parent or guardian and not interfere with the sight line of other patrons.
J is for JAMS: The student section will feature a DJ that will pump up the jams at each and every home game.
K is for FRANCIS SCOTT KEY: Military Appreciation Day will take place on Saturday, September 13 when the Terps take on West Virginia. This game will also celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner.
L is for LOUD: As you cheer loud remember to treat all of our new Big Ten guests with courtesy so Maryland can continue to be known as the best sports fans in college athletics.

N is for NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: The Maryland Women's Lacrosse team will be recognized during Maryland’s home game against Ohio State for their 2014 National Championship.
O is for OUTSTANDING: Maryland will continue to have one of the most exciting pre-game shows in the country featuring an ALL new 2014 Under Armour team intro video along with "Maryland Pride" branded pyrotechnics and smoke. The team will also be on the field for the national anthem.
P is for PARKING: Parking will again be in high demand this coming season and an emphasis will be placed on purchasing parking permits in advance. For general information and to purchase the permits in advance please click here.
Q is for QUICK: The Shuttle Service has expanded to accommodate new routes so fans can gain access to the stadium earlier in order to not miss one second of the best pregame atmosphere in the Big Ten. Click here for more information.
R is for RV: The RV Parking Lot has moved and expanded to accommodate out of town guests. Parking lot 7, across from the main campus entrance, will now be available beginning on Friday before the game at 6 p.m. Click here for more information.
S is for STUDENTS: This season, expect the student section to be loud and proud with the launch of the new student fan group "The Pride", focused on new traditions and Terrapin spirit.
T is for TERP TOWN: Terp Town has a new look and new location! The official pre-game event of Maryland Football, Terp Town is FREE and open to the public. It is located at the forefront of all game day excitement on Field House Drive just south of Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Terp Town will feature a kids zone, live music, and a beer garden, live out of town games on big screen TVs, giveaways and more.
U is for UNDER THE LIGHTS: The annual #BlackoutByrd game will be played against Michigan State on Saturday, November 15 at 8 p.m. on the BTN.
V is for VICTORY: The Chapel Chimes will now play the fight song every football home game at 11:30 a.m. and 30 minutes prior to kick-off. Also, during Homecoming Week we will be played each day at these times.
W is for WEARING RED: The Inaugural Big Ten home game will be played against Ohio State on Saturday, October 4. Fans are encouraged to wear red.
X is for eXcitement: The Maryland Football team will arrive on campus 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff and will bus through Terp Town. Fans are invited to join the excitement and cheer on the team when they arrive along with the band, dance and cheer teams and Testudo.
Y is for YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS: If you cannot attend a game this season, fans are encouraged to donate their tickets back to be utilized by local youth organizations or military personnel. Please mail unused tickets to the Terrapin Ticket Office at 2740 Xfinity Center, College Park, MD 20742.
Z is for ZERO WASTE: The Drive to Zero Waste has begun at the University of Maryland with a goal of diverting 90 percent of the game day trash from the landfill by an increase in recycling and composting. Please help support the University’s sustainable efforts by properly disposing of your game day fanfare at your tailgates and inside the stadium.
