ROSEMONT, Ill. – Three members of the Maryland field hockey team were named to the Big Ten Players to Watch list released Thursday. Junior Anna Dessoye and seniors Maxine Fluharty and Katie Gerzabek were the three Terrapins on the list.
Dessoye is Maryland’s leading returning scorer, after she notched 13 goals and 16 assists in 2013. Fluharty added 12 goals and seven assists last year, while Gerzabek scored five goals and notched three assists in her 19 games played.

The Terrapins will host two exhibition events this weekend at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex that are both open to fans.
The Terps will host their annual Red/White intra-squad scrimmage at noon Saturday and Old Dominion in an exhibition Sunday at 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free for both events.
Coming off of its sixth straight Final Four appearance, Maryland will officially open the 2014 season Aug. 29 vs. Massachusetts at 5 p.m. in the Conference Cup at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Lancaster, Pa. The Terps will take on Northeastern Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. in their second game in the Conference Cup, before returning home to host North Carolina Friday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m.
Tickets to the Conference Cup are $8 for adults and $5 for students (with student ID) and children under 14. Fans can purchase a $45 package for all four games of the Conference Cup that includes admission to a clinic Saturday hosted by Maryland and Temple.
