As a sophomore (2015): Named to the NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team...started in all 23 games...added an assist in Terps' home opening win vs. Saint Joseph's (Aug. 30)...scored Terps' second goal off a penalty corner in the 21st minute vs. New Hampshire (Sept. 20)...scored second goal of the season and Terps' third goal in win over Michigan State (Sept. 27)...added an assist in Maryland's 5-2 win at Ohio State (Oct. 2)...scored in Maryland's 4-0 win at Rutgers (Oct. 18)...picked up an assist in Terps' 6-0 win over Towson (Oct. 25)...assisted on Holsboer's game-winning goal in double overtime of Big Ten semifinals vs. #17 Northwestern (Nov. 6)...part of team that swept Big Ten regular season and tournament titles...named to the All-Big Ten Academic Team.
As a freshman (2014): Started in all 23 of the Terps' games...notched first career point in first career game with an assist to Parker in 22nd minute for 2-0 lead in win over #10 Massachusetts (Aug. 29)...scored first career goal off a rebound on a penalty corner in the 24th minute vs. #16 Temple (Sept. 14)...scored Terps' sixth goal off a rebound on a penalty corner and assisted on the seventh in 9-0 rout of Penn (Oct. 12)...added Terps' second goal off a rebound on a corner in 8-2 win at #19 Indiana (Oct. 24)...named Big Ten Freshman of the Week (Oct. 28)…scored in Terps' Big Ten Tournament debut vs. Ohio State (Nov. 6)…part of team that won first Big Ten championship in school history.
Before Maryland: Played four years of varsity at Niskayuna…team was Section II Class A finalist in freshman, sophomore and senior seasons…team was a NYS Finalist in her junior year…scored 32 goals and notched 23 assists…named to the New York All-State Team as a junior and senior…named a Section II First Team All-Star as a junior and senior and Second Team as a freshman and sophomore…also played basketball and lacrosse early in high school…played for ADK…team won its National Field Hockey Festival pool in 2012 and 2013…club ranked in top 10 of the country.
Personal: Caroline Hanks...daughter of Paul and Susan Hanks...has two sisters, Megan and Jenn, who played field hockey at Skidmore College...Jenn is now an assistant at Franklin & Marshall...father played basketball at Lehigh and mother played field hockey at Lehigh as well...dream in middle school was to play basketball at Maryland...chose Maryland for the coaches, the program and the school spirit...journalism major that plans to minor in Spanish...intends to be a sports information director.
