Each week during the 2013-14 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is senior Mike Chanenchuk of the Maryland men's lacrosse team.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- No. 7-seeded Maryland only led for 2 seconds vs. Cornell, but all that mattered was that those were the last two seconds of the game in the Terps' 8-7 win over Cornell.

While many terrific efforts went into the Terps' memorable comeback, Mike Chanenchuk did a bit of everything, including scoring the game-winner with those two ticks left on the clock.

But that wasn't all Chanenchuk did. With the Terps reeling in the first half as Cornell jumped out to a 4-0 lead it was Chancnehuk who stemmed the tied and got Maryland on the board, ending the team's longest scoreless stretch of the season.

Maryland came out of halftime down 5-1, but the Terps went on a 3-0 run to start the third to close the gap to 5-4. Chanenchuk had a hand in two of those goals, assisting on the scores by freshmen Matt Rambo and Connor Cannizzaro.

But it all came down to the final minute of the game and Chanenchuk, who has had many brilliant moments in his Terrapin career, had his "Maryland Moment". The Big Red defense got the Terps to put the ball on the ground with about 11 seconds left, but Chanenchuk came up with the biggest of the Terrapins’ 27 groundballs with nine seconds left, which allowed Maryland head coach John Tillman the opportunity to call a time out and set up a final play.

That play started with sophomore Henry West dodging down the right alley and sending a perfect skip pass across the field to Chanenchuk on the left wing and he ripped a shot into the right side of the Cornell net to send the Terps into the NCAA quarterfinals.

The Terps take on Bryant Saturday at noon in Hempstead, N.Y., for an opportunity to reach their third Final Four in four years.
