GREENSBORO, N.C. - University of Maryland freshman Alexandra Stanova was named to the 2014 All-ACC Women’s Tennis Third Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

One of the only freshman to ever lead Maryland from the top singles position, Stanova has had a solid debut season in College Park, performing admirably against some of the nation’s toughest competition.

The native of Slovakia has three singles wins and formed a solid partnership with Olivia Gaudreault at No. 2 doubles.

North Carolina freshman Jamie Loeb was named Player of the Year while teammate Haley Carter claimed Freshman of the Year. Clemson’s Nancy Harris earned Coach of the Year honors.

Individual honors, as well as the All-ACC teams, were determined by a vote of the league’s 15 head coaches.

The Terps finished the regular season with 9-12 record and start play at the 2014 ACC Championships this Wednesday.
