Terps Tied for Fifth After First Round at ACCs

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Juliet Vongphoumy is tied for fifth place after the first round of the Maryland women's golf team's final ACC Championship appearance Thursday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

Vongphoumy is three strokes off the leader after shooting a 72 in the first round for the Terps, who are tied for fifth place as a team after posting a total score of 306 Thursday.

Heidi Baek is currently tied for 22nd place after shooting a 76 in the first round. Alexandria Papell follows quickly behind Baek after posting a first round score of 77. She is tied for 27th place.

Jessica Gregory and Emily Gimpel round out the group after shooting scores of 81 and 84, respectively, Thursday.

The Terps will tee off at 9:50 a.m. Friday for the start of the second round.
