COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Eleven area schools will join the Terrapins on the track Saturday at the Maryland Invitational track and field meet to be held at the Kehoe Track Complex.
The Terrapins will be in the second week of the outdoor season and will have their full squad competing in a number of events.
Of note will be the throwing events, where Cici Onyekwere opened the outdoor season last weekend with wins in the women’s shot put and hammer, and where Josh Haghighi became the first Terp male to crack the all-time top-10 in the men’s shot put in 29 years.
Six field events will begin competition at 10 a.m. on Saturday, while the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase will open running events at 10:30 a.m.
The meet is tentatively scheduled to wrap up around 4 p.m.
