Each week during the 2013-14 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is junior Kelly McPartland of the Maryland women's lacrosse team.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - When a team is as talented as the No. 2 Maryland women’s lacrosse team, the star contributor can be any number of players from game to game.

Last week, Kelly McPartland took her turn in the spotlight with a pair of brilliant performances against top-10 foes. The junior notched three goals and two assists in a win over No. 3 Syracuse and recorded a hat trick in a home victory over No. 8 Notre Dame.

The performances not only led to Terp victories, but also individual honors as McPartland earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week. For the season, the Farmingdale, N.Y. native has 41 points, which ranks second on the team.

McPartland’s goals against the Orange were especially important as they gave the Terps the lead going into halftime at the Carrier Dome. Her pair of first half tallies against the Irish helped gave the Terps a five-goal cushion at the break.

The midfielder’s performance conducting the 10-0 Terrapins’ high-powered offense, her 14 assists is a team-high, will be vital as the squad pushes through the season.
