Fox, Harris Pace Terps in Day One at Schenkel

STATESBORO, Ga. - Freshman Victor Fox and sophomore Tom Harris led the Maryland men's golf team in the first round at the Schenkel Invitational Friday. Both Fox and Harris shot a two-over 74 to wind up tied for 29th on the leaderboards after the first round of 18.

The teams will play the second 18 Saturday and the third Sunday. The Schenkel Invitational is hosted by Georgia Southern at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.

Senior Sean Bosdosh finished three-over with a 75 on the day to stay tied for 48th. Andrew Stein went +4 with a 76 and Connor Tendall went +6.

Tendall will be the first Terrapin to tee off Saturday. He will start at 9:36 a.m. and will be followed by Stein, Bosdosh, Harris and Fox in order.

The Terrapins are one of 15 teams competing in the 35th annual Schenkel Invitational. They will compete against No. 6 UCF, No. 10 Virginia, No. 14 UAB, No. 15 Texas, No. 28 Kentucky, College of Charleston, Georgia State, NC State, Duke, North Florida, Florida, North Texas, Mississippi and tournament-host Georgia Southern.

In last year's Schenkel Invitational, Bosdosh finished tied for 11th on the leaderboard and went even with a 216 (72-71-73) on the weekend.
