The series features four different camps on the University of Maryland campus, including an individual skills camp (July 11-13), youth day camp (July 14-16), high school day camp (July 21-23) and high school team camp (July 18-20). Satellite camps are also available for interested parties.
“I’m really excited to launch our summer camp series,” said Aird. “It’s a priority for me to get the community and especially young athletes excited about volleyball. I know our staff and guest coaches will do a great job teaching the sport in a positive environment.”
Aird and the rest of the staff will provide camp opportunities for athletes of all ages and skill levels. The individual camps will focus on teaching fundamentals and helping players gain confidence in their game.
Additionally, the team camp will focus on team training and systems and provide plenty of opportunity to compete against other schools. Coaches of all age groups and skill levels are free to attend.
The camp will feature an exceptional staff, world-class facilities, air-conditioned dorms and great dining options. Camps will be hosted at Comcast Center – one of the nation’s premier athletic facilities.
Aird has played and coached volleyball at the highest collegiate level for more than 15 years, most recently serving as an assistant coach for the 2013 NCAA Champion Penn State volleyball team. He made three NCAA Final Four appearances as a player from 1997-01 at Penn State.
