COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Strong performances from men’s soccer and field hockey has vaulted Maryland to No. 21 in the latest Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings as released on Tuesday. The Terps are tied for 21st with Florida with 173.00 points.
The men’s soccer team accumulated 90 points after advancing to the national championship game, while field hockey earned 83 points after making its sixth consecutive trip to the Final Four this past season.
Maryland is one of seven Atlantic Coast Conference teams in the top 25 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings. The ACC leads all conferences with five schools in the top 10.
The final Division I fall standings will be released Thursday, Jan. 9.
