Head Coach Brenda Frese

On tonight’s game:
“We really dictated and dominated this game for forty minutes. It was fun to be able to watch. First of all, we were unselfish tonight with six players in double figures. I told them in the locker room to be a part of history to be able to watch [Alyssa Thomas] have a triple-double; that doesn’t happen very often in a career. Playing for each other was an area we really worked on this week in practice and having more players involved and I thought we did a tremendous job with that tonight.”

On coming out and rebounding strong in the second half:
“The first half I wasn’t as concerned because we were shooting such a high percentage from the field. I thought Alyssa got really aggressive on the glass, we made a definite effort. I thought our guards and our bigs made a big difference for us.”

On the focus the team had:
“I really liked our focus, we spent a lot of time talking about not having letups, not playing the score. I want to frame this box score; it was as close to a perfect game for us in terms of just really locking in on both ends of the floor and never really playing the score, but playing for Maryland basketball and playing to get better.”

Junior Guard Laurin Mincy

About getting into a shooting rhythm:
“I would just say it’s being confident and coming in being confident and not worrying about making mistakes. My teammates were able to find me and give me easy buckets, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Senior Forward Alyssa Thomas

On knowing when she had a triple-double:
“I really didn’t know until I was sitting on the bench and they told me I needed one more assist. My teammates just focused in and helped me get that last one. The whole night they were just knocking down shots so they made it easy.”
