The Maryland women’s golf team will play in its fourth tournament of the 2013 fall season when it heads to Lakewood Ranch, Fla., for the Florida International University Pat Bradley Invitational beginning Sunday.
The 17-team field consists of Bethune-Cookman, Bradley, Cincinnati, Daytona State, Delaware, Drake, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Missouri, Memphis, North Texas, Southern Miss, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Western Illinois.
Tee time is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday for the first round at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. The course is a Par 72, 6,288-yard course. Monday's round will begin with an 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. The final round of the tournament will start Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
Maryland’s lineup for the tournament is Juliet Vongphounmy, Emily Gimpel, Heidi Baek, Alexandra Papell, and Jess Gregory.
The Terps are coming off a seventh place finish at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate last week.
Vongphounmy led the Terps in the Lady Pirate finishing third overall in the tournament while shooting a three round score of 219 (73-72-74). Jess Gregory continued to play at a high level finishing tied for 15th with a score of 227 (76-74-77). Gimpel finished 30th while shooting a total score of 231. Papell, who played individually at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, was right behind Gimpel with a score of 235 (78-79-78). Baek shot a total score of 241(78-86-77) in the tournament.
Following the Pat Bradley Invitational, the Terps will return to competition Sunday, October 27 at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate in Charleston, S.C.
