Terps in Eighth After 36 Holes at Lady Pirate Intercollegiate

The Maryland women's golf team will head into day two of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate in eighth place after their play Monday in Greenville, N.C.

The Terps ended today with a score of 609.  They shot a 305 through the first 18 holes and then capped day one off with a score of 304 in the other 18 holes.  Maryland is led by Juliet Vongphoumy with a score of 145 (73-72), which is good enough to be tied for fourth place.  Jess Gregory is currently tied for 13th with a score of 150 (76-74).  Emily Gimpel is tied for 34th after shooting a 154 (79-75) today. Gimpel was followed by Panitta Yusabai who finished tied for 61st with a score of 161 (78-83).  Heidi Baek rounded out the group finishing tied for 72nd with a score of 164 (78-86).

Alexandra Papell, who is playing individually for the Terps, is tied for 47th after shooting a 157 (78-79). 

East Tennessee State currently sits atop the leaderboard with a score of 596 (288-308).

The Terps will look to make up ground as play resumes Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
