The Maryland wrestling team opens its 2013-14 campaign in a little over three weeks. After a 14-8 record and a top-30 finish at the NCAA Championships last year, the Terps look to continue their success in what will be their last year in the ACC.

As part of the team’s season kickoff activities, Maryland wrestling will hold two open practices at Comcast Center on Friday, Oct. 25 at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. Following its 10 a.m. practice, the Maryland wrestling family will gather for a Meet the Team Tailgate at 11:30 a.m. prior to the Maryland football team’s matchup with third-ranked Clemson.

The annual Red vs. Black Wrestle-Offs is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 27 at 12 p.m. at Comcast Center to catch a preview of the 2013-14 Terps. The Kickoff Banquet will be held right after the exhibition from 2-4 p.m.

Come out and support your Terps as they begin what is sure to be a great 2013-14 Maryland wresting season. The Terps regular season officially begins on Sunday, Nov. 3 with the Terrapin Duals. Maryland will take on Alderson-Broaddus, Johns Hopkins and Kutztown at the Comcast Center beginning at 11 a.m.

Maryland starts the season ranked No.22 in the preseason WIN Division I Power Index and with good reason. The Terps boast three nationally-ranked wrestlers and return All-American senior Jimmy Sheptock, who went 40-6 last season, and enters the season ranked No. 3 at 184. Joining him is fellow senior Christian Boley, who is ranked No. 9 at 197 and will be looking to win his third ACC title in row. Rounding out the trio is junior Geoffrey Alexander, who is looking to improve on his 25-11 record last season and begins the season ranked No. 11 at 133.
