The Terrapins then welcome Clemson on Sunday at 2:00 p.m as they celebrate Alumni Day.
Maryland (8-4) is a perfect 6-0 in Comcast Pavilion this season after winning the Terrapin Invitational in consecutive weekends. The Terps have relied heavily on the strong hitting of senior Mary Cushman and junior Adreené Elliott in 2013-14, in addition to the consistent play of libero Sarah Harper.

Georgia Tech opens conference play Friday against Maryland after winning three of its last four matches. The Yellow Jackets earned a pair of victories at the Tennessee Tournament last weekend, sweeping host Tennessee and Jacksonville State. Georgia Tech has proved formidable from the serving stripe, notching 1.49 aces/s which ranks fourth in the ACC.
The Jackets rely heavily on the play of senior Jennifer Percy at the net, who has tallied 125 kills (3.05/s) this season. Percy's classmate Quinn Evans has also had a strong season, striking the ball at a .325 clip while leading the team with 48 blocks. Evans is seventh in the ACC with 1.23 blocks/s.
Head coach Tonya Johnson is in the midst of her fifth season at the helm of Georgia Tech, amassing an overall record of 73-52 (.584).

The Tigers are led by Moneshia Simmons, who currently ranks first in the ACC in kills/s (4.38) and points/s (4.86) after being named to the Clemson Classic All-Tournament team. Veteran setter Hannah Brenner has 326 assists (8.81) this season, while Kristin Faust has 174 digs (3.87).
History bodes well for Maryland Friday against Georgia Tech as the Terps have won five consecutive ACC season-openers dating back to September 23, 2008. The Terrapins defeated Boston College in four of those openers, before taking down Clemson last season in straight sets on September 21.
Maryland ranks 19th in the nation (3rd ACC) with 2.73 blocks/s this season. The stout defense can largely be attributed to freshman Ashlyn MacGregor, who ranks 35th nationally and third in the conference with 1.31 blocks/s.
Veteran senior Sarah Harper has played well at libero, ranking 37th nationally and second in the ACC with 4.91 digs/s. Currently sitting fourth all-time on the Maryland digs list, Harper is on pace to break the Terrapin career digs mark barring any setbacks.
