COLLEGE PARK, Md. – With a career-high 179 yards receiving in Maryland’s 47-10 win over Old Dominion on Saturday, wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been voted the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Receiver of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Diggs caught six passes for a career-best 179 yards and one touchdown. His touchdown reception was a 41-yard catch and run down the right sideline for his second touchdown of the season. Diggs’ 179 yards are the most by a Maryland receiver since Torrey Smith had 224 against NC State on Nov. 27, 2010.
The sophomore is averaging 25.2 yards per catch in two games and is second in the ACC averaging 138.5 yards per game. For his career, Diggs now has 1,125 career receiving yards, which ranks 21st in Maryland history.
Maryland travels to Connecticut on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. The Terps will be looking to improve to 3-0 after averaging 45 points in their first two games of the season.
