The Maryland women’s golf team dropped to 16th in the team standings Monday at the Cougar Classic in Hanahan, S.C.

The Terps shot a 306 on the day after posting a 299 on Sunday. After recording the highest score on the squad in her first collegiate action, freshman Alexandria Papell paced Maryland on day two, registering a +2, shaving six strokes off her Sunday tally.

Emily Gimpel was one behind Papell with a 75 after tallying a 76 on day one.

Panitta Yusabai and Heidi Baek recorded an 80 and 81, respectively, with two-round scores of 156 and 157.

After pacing Maryland in opening action with a 71, Juliet Vongphoumy shot an uncharacteristic +5 on day two but continues to lead the Terps on the leaderboard, tied for 36th with a 148 two-round score.

Maryland rounds out play at the Cougar Classic Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
