PALO ALTO, Calif. - The No. 15 University of Maryland women’s soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss at No. 4 Stanford to finish up a two-match trip to California Sunday afternoon at Cagan Stadium.
The loss drops the Terps’ record to 4-2-0 on the season, while the Cardinal remain unbeaten with a 4-0-1 mark.
Stanford converted on two of its 10 corner kicks with both goals coming off of headers by Taylor Uhl. The first came in the 10th minute to make it a 1-0 game. Uhl then capped off the scoring with her second goal of the match in the 89th minute.
Ryan Walker-Hartshorn scored the Cardinal’s second goal in the 57th minute.
Sophomore Rachelle Beanlands made a season-high six saves in the match for the Terrapins.
Maryland will open its ACC schedule on Thursday, Sept. 12 when it travels to Clemson, S.C., to take on the Clemson Tigers at Historic Riggs Field at 7 p.m.
