AS A SOPHOMORE (2015): Started in all 54 games...made 37 appearances in the circle, including 18 starts...was an offensive weapon, hitting .364 with a team leading .519 on base percentage...totaled 56 hits, 39 runs scored, and 13 doubles...was second in the Big Ten in walks (59) and fifth in doubles...posted a 6.09 ERA in 100 innings of work on the mound...struck out 57 batters and recorded six wins for the Terps...started the season scorching hot, hitting at a .667 pace at the Coastal Carolina Kickin' Chicken Classic; was named MVP of the tournament and Terp of The Week for her performance in Myrtle Beach...this included a 2-for-3 showing in the opener (2/6) with a double and run scored...followed up by two more 2-for-3 outings vs. Lafayette and Virginia Tech (2/7) including three doubles and two walks...rounded out the weekend with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate and a complete game no-earned run, five strikeout win in the circle against Coastal Carolina (2/8)...continued her hot start the next weekend at Florida Atlantic, pitching 10 2/3 innings of two run ball, good for a 1.31 ERA...at the plate, went 2-for-4 with her first homerun of the year against Providence (2/13)...1-for-2 with a RBI against Drexel (2/14)...and 2-for-4 with a double against Florida Atlantic (2/15)...had a third consecutive great weekend in her home state...went 2-for-3 vs. #24 Notre Dame (2/19) and pitched an inning of scoreless softball...2-for-4 with a game tying two RBI single in the seventh inning vs. Nevada (2/20)...and 2-for-4 with an RBI vs. Long Beach State (2/21) and got the win in the circle pitching four innings and allowing three runs...pitched 2.1 innings of one run ball in relief vs. Fordham (2/27)...started in the circle against two SEC teams Mississippi State (2/27) and #20 Missouri (3/1)...went 2-for-4 at #17 UCF, scoring two runs...got on base all four plate appearances vs. Rhode Island (3/7), going 1-for-1 with three walks and four runs scored...went 2-for-3 with a two run homerun and one run scored at James Madison (3/8)...threw four innings against Princeton (3/16), allowing zero earned runs with four strikeouts and went 1-for-2 with a double at the plate...went 1-for-3 with three runs scored in the Big Ten opener vs. Iowa (3/20)...followed up by a 1-for-1, three walk performance in game two (3/21)...wrapped up the Iowa series (3/22) by going 1-for-3 with two walks and two RBI's...pitched six innings in the doubleheader against Dartmouth (3/25), allowing two earned runs and striking out five while going 3-for-7 from the plate with three runs scored and three walks...crushed a game-saving double against Ohio State (3/27) in a furious Maryland seventh inning comeback, scored tying run…got on base in all five at bats in game three of the Ohio State Series (3/29), going 2-for-2 with a double and three walks…went 3-for-4 against Indiana (4/4) with a homerun…had a bases clearing double in the Indiana finale (4/5) and scored three runs…went 2-for-4 with a RBI double against Illinois (4/10)…went 1-for-2 in each of the last games of the Illinois series (4/11-4/12), notching three RBI’s, started on the mound (4/12), going 3/2 innings allowing one run and striking out two…shined on the Big Ten Network against Penn State (4/19), earned the win in the circle with a six inning, two run, four strikeout performance, and went 2-for-2 with a walk at the plate…went 2-for-3 with two RBI’s in game one of a doubleheader at Rutgers (4/21)…dazzled on national television yet again vs. #4 Michigan (4/24) going 1-for-2 at the plate and holding a top offensive lineup in check, two earned runs in 2 1/3 innings…went 2-for-3 against Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament (5/7).
AS A FRESHMAN (2014): Appeared in 24 games, making 17 starts...also made 11 appearances in the circle with four starts...hit .263 with four RBIs, three doubles and three runs scored...struck out 10 batters in 17.2 innings of work...posted a hit in collegiate debut against DePaul (2/7)...made first career pitching start at FIU (2/7)...went 3-for-4 against Long Island (2/16)...tallied first double of season versus Radford (2/28)...knocked in a pair of runs and pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in game two at North Carolina (3/22)...went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles in game two against Howard (4/23)...went 1-for-2 with an RBI against Pitt (5/4).
Before Maryland: Pitcher at Great Oak High School... as a senior, she carried an ERA of 2.36 with 132 strikeouts, was third in her league in strikeouts (128), and at the plate, was third in batting average (.500)...named an Athletic Scholar all four years...named 1st Team All-Southwestern League as a junior and senior and Second Team as a sophomore...played for Mel Sievers with the California Cruisers 18 Gold and Doug Myers with the Orange County Batbusters.
Personal: Hannah Gabrielle Dewey...daughter of Todd and Jill Dewey...has two brothers, Noah and Jack...father played baseball at USC, then played in the Atlanta Braves organization for six years, while her mother played volleyball at UCLA...brother plays lacrosse at Univerisity of Mary Washington...earned numerous Academic Excellence Awards in high school...chose Maryland for the academic excellence, "college town" atmosphere, softball program and the coaching staff...also considered Cal Berkeley, Baylor, Harvard and UPenn...agricultural resource economics major with a minor in global poverty...intends on attending law school to work in environmental policy.
