RALEIGH, N.C. - The Maryland softball team dropped the series finale at NC State Saturday, 7-1, after splitting the doubleheader Saturday.
Maryland (20-20, 5-4 ACC) rallied with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, but it wasn't enough to even the score.

The Wolfpack took the lead back, 2-1, when Scout Albertson hit a solo home run to left in the bottom half of the fourth inning. Caitlin Dent brought in a run with a sac fly in the bottom of the fifth. NC State added two more runs before the end of the inning to make it 5-1.
The Wolfpack added two more off an error and a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth.
Lexi Carroll and Shannon Bustillos hit back to back singles to lead off the top of the seventh. Liana Newton drew a walk to load the bases with two outs, but the Terrapins couldn't capitalize.
