COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Junior Sean Bosdosh has received a bid to compete in the men's NCAA Regional Tournament running from May 16-18. The Clarksburg, Md. native was the first individual selected to compete in the Tallahassee Regional held at Golden Eagle Golf and Country Club.
"Golden Eagle is a great golf course," said Director of Intercollegiate Golf Jason Rodenhaver. "It used to host the Tallahassee Open on the PGA tour. I've coached there (as the men's assistant) twice back in 97 & 98. Sean will do very well there."
In addition to the 81 teams that make up the regional fields, 45 individuals were chosen to play in the 54-hole events. The low five teams and low individual not on those teams in each region will advance to the National Championship in Atlanta, Georgia May 28-June 2nd.
Bosdosh has had a stellar year for the Terps, which included two individual tournament titles and a team-low average of 72.04 through ten events. The individual field in Tallahassee also includes J.T. Poston (Western Carolina), Maverick Antcliff (Augusta State), Richard Fountain, (Davidson) Ryan Fricker (Bethune-Cookman), Trey Rule (Mercer), Daniel Walker (Richmond), Edward Figueroa (Florida Gulf Coast), Alex Wennstam (Augusta State), and Hans Reimers (Mercer).
"This is a well-deserved selection for Sean," said Rodenhaver. "He has worked very hard and was our most consistent player throughout the year, finishing in the top-20 of every event he played in. This is a great building block for both Sean and our program."
