Hello Terp Fans:

We are excited for another terrific weekend of competition in College Park. There are so many fantastic events on campus for you to enjoy.

Come support our student-athletes beginning Friday evening for our Red-White Spring Football Game. This spring we are featuring our own version of Friday Night Lights.

It's an action-packed weekend for Maryland athletics, including the much anticipated men's lacrosse match against Johns Hopkins.

Women's lacrosse and baseball are also hosting this weekend. We hope to see you out in College Park. Thank you for your continued support. Go Terps!

Here are additional updates on the all of the exciting events on campus this weekend:

Football
Our football team concludes its spring practices on Friday with its Red-White Spring Football game at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. The team returns seven starters on offense, including Stefon Diggs who was named All-ACC honorable mention last season. The Terps enjoyed holding practices the past two weeks at Dunbar High School in Baltimore and Middletown High School near Frederick.

Men's and Women's Lacrosse
Both of Maryland's Men's and Women's lacrosse teams are currently ranked No. 1. The men are 8-1 and off to their best start since 2004, heading into Saturday's matchup with rival Johns Hopkins. The marks the 110th meeting of Lacrosse's Greatest Rivalry when No. 11 Johns Hopkins comes to Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium on Saturday at 3 p.m. In addition, the game vs. Johns Hopkins marks the 1000th game in the 88-year history of the Terrapin program. Maryland boasts an all-time record of 745-250-4 heading into the game vs. the Blue Jays.

The women (14-0) are coming off a 14-13 win over No. 2 North Carolina Saturday during which they set an attendance record (2,347) for the program. The women have defeated five top 10 teams this season already.

Baseball
Maryland (18-15) hosts a three-game series against Miami this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The baseball team is coming off back-to-back wins over VCU and George Mason.

Gymnastics Takes Fourth at NCAA Regionals
Maryland closed out its season with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Regionals in Gainesville last weekend. The Terps posted a 195.575, which is the second-best score in program history in NCAA competition. Also, its fourth-place finish is the highest finish since 2003.

Junior Katy Dodds and sophomore Stephanie Giameo earned regular-season first-team NACGC/W All-America honors for their performances this season.

Men's and Women's Basketball
The men's and women's basketball teams capped off successful seasons, advancing to the postseason. The men's basketball team completed a 25-13 record season in which it advanced to the National Invitation Tournament semifinal for the third time in school history. Head coach Mark Turgeon (42-28) has the best winning percentage (.600) of any Maryland head coach in his first two years at the school. The women's team advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season and the fifth time under Brenda's direction. Junior Alyssa Thomas and senior Tianna Hawkins earned All-American honors, and Brenda was named the ACC Coach of the Year.
