As a Junior in 1999: The Terps' starting goalie, Lewis started 15 games in 1999, missing five due to a bulging disc in his back … one of the top keepers in the conference, Lewis returned from his injuries against Clemson, solidifying the 2-0 win and also got the win against Wisconsin to finish the regular season healthy … he had a 0.97 goals against average, which ranked second in the ACC last season … had a string of five straight shutouts until the Terps' 3-0 loss to Duke on Sept. 25 … had seven shutouts for the second season in a row … Lewis was recognized as a member of the at-large GTE fall/winter academic all-district team as well as by the Maryland Athletic Department as the Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 13 and Oct. 5 for his excellence on the field and in the classroom … he was also an ACC honor roll student.
As a Sophomore in 1998: Started in all 24 games … played all 2,164 minutes … allowed 26 goals in 24 games for a 1.08 GAA … posted a 16-8 record … ranked fourth in the ACC in GAA and save percentage (.764) … his 84 saves ranked him second in the ACC … posted seven shutouts including victories over American, NC State and North Carolina … charted his seventh shutout of the season against Jacksonville in the second round of the NCAA Tournament … recorded a season-high seven saves four times, including in the Terps' 2-0 win against North Carolina in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament on Nov. 12 … earned GTE/CoSIDA second team All-America award.
