On Williams: In 2002, Lequita hit her uneven bar routine when the team needed it most at the conference championships … a strong finisher.

2002: Competed in four of the Terps’ 11 regular season meets and in the EAGL Championships on the uneven bars … also exhibitioned on the vault and uneven bars numerous times … earned a career-high 9.725 on the uneven bars on March 23 at the EAGL Championships…named to the scholar-athlete honor roll.

Prior to Maryland: Team co-captain and Level 10 regional qualifier in 2001 … state beam champion … earned second place in vault and all-around at states … also placed third on bars and fourth on floor at states.

Personal: Lequita Antoinette Williams … born May 1, 1983 … daughter of Camille and Denny Williams … has two brothers, Denny and Dion … enjoys dancing, traveling, shopping and listening to music … was selected Best Dancer in high school … member of student council in high school … majoring in kinesiology.

What is one piece of advice you will give to the freshman class?
I would tell the freshmen to make sure they are on top of their work because study table is not fun when you have to be there longer than expected.
What are your personal goals for the 2003 season?
My personal goal is to beat my season high on bars and to be able to compete in another event than bars.
What are your team goals for the 2003 season?
I want to be able to go to regionals as a team.
Favorite childhood toy?
My rubber floor beam.
