1999: Competed in 11 of Maryland's 13 meets on vault and in four meets on floor … also recorded a season-high 9.700 on Feb. 17 against George Washington, finishing in a tie for fourth place … recorded a career-high 9.600 on floor on Feb. 17 against George Washington, placing 12th overall … put up vault scores of 9.625 or better in 10 of her 11 vault performances … All-American academic honors … named to EAGL All-Academic Team for second consecutive season.

1998: Competed in 10 meets … recorded a season-high 9.725 on Feb. 24 against George Washington, Eastern Michigan, and Radford, placing fourth overall … on Feb. 27 at the Bermuda Invitational against Towson and New Hampshire she finished in fifth place on vault with a 9.575 … earned EAGL All-Academic Team honors.

1997: Walked on team … competed in every Terrapin meet on vault and seven meets on floor … named to the All-EAGL second team for vault … scored a 9.475 on vault at the EAGL Championships … twice set the Maryland all-time individual record on vault: first on March 11 against Northern Illinois when she scored a 9.800 and then four days later on March 15 against Radford, she broke that mark by scoring a 9.850; both scores earned her first place on vault for that particular meet.

Personal: Born Jan. 27, 1978 … daughter of Geraldine Hernandez … member of Hill's Gymnastics Team where she was a teammate of Wendy Weaton, who is now a member of New Hampshire's gymnastics team, and Betsy Hernandez, a current member of James Madison's gymnastics team … brother, Chick Hernandez is a sports anchor for Fox 5 in Washington … majoring in criminal justice in preparation for an anticipated career in the FBI … also interested in possibly becoming a chef and opening up a restaurant.
