After a successful career at Maryland, Asper joined Coach McCoy's coaching staff in the summer of 2013 as an administrative assistant.

As a Senior (2012-13): Completed his career as the second-winningest wrestler in program history...moved up to 174 pounds and finished the season with a 21-3 record...defeated No. 17 Jon Fausey of Virginia, 4-2, for his second career ACC title...NCAA qualifier...earned All-ACC honors for the fourth time in his career...won seven bonus-point matches with four by fall...won the 174-pound title at the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Class with two wins by fall...earned the Kevin R. Kearns Award for the senior who contributed the most to wrestling at Maryland at the team banquet.

As a Junior (2011-12): Spent the majority of the season ranked No. 2 at 165 pounds...earned All-America status for the second consecutive season with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships...finished the year 28-4 and a perfect 15-0 in dual competition...won 24 consecutive matches to open the season...runner-up at the ACC Championships...earned All-ACC honors for the third time...defeated second-seeded Shane Onufer of Wyoming, 5-3, to clinch All-America status at the NCAA Tournament...earned the Most Outstanding Wrestler award at the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Invitational after winning the title at 165 with a 6-0 decision over then-No. 6 Scott Winston of Rutgers...finished second at the Nittany Lion Open (12/4)...earned the John C. McHugh Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Year award and the Curt Callahan Award for mental toughness at the team banquet.

As a Sophomore (2010-11): One of the nation's most dominant performers at 165 pounds...placed sixth at NCAA Championships, reaching All-American status for the first time in his career after shutting out Lehigh's Brandon Hatchett, 4-0...topped #20 Pete Yates of Virginia Tech to clinch ACC title at 165...ranked as highly as No. 4 in the country within his weight class...won individual title at Nittany Lion Open...finished season at 35-5, the most victories on the team...went 19-0 in dual meets...named ACC Wrestler of the Year...earned Most Valuable Wrestler at team banquet...pinned Harvard's Andrew Hogue in just 1:02.

As a Redshirt Freshman (2009-10): Had a dominant season at 165 pounds, finishing 34-9, including 23-5 in dual meets ... just missed out on All-American status at the NCAA Championships, losing at the last-second in a consolation match that would have guaranteed him an eighth-place finish ... was ranked as high as No. 14 by Intermat, holding that spot from Feb. 12 through the end of the season ... took home the 165-pound title at the Body Bar Invitational on Nov. 21 ... defeated No. 12 Justin Kerber of Cornell at the NWCA National Duals on Jan. 10 by a 9-4 decision ... reeled off 11 straight wins between Jan. 17 and Feb. 20 ...defeated No. 17 P.J. Gillespie of Hofstra during that stretch ... runner-up at the ACC Championship.

As a Freshman (2008-09): Had excellent redshirt season, dominating open competition ... finished 34-7 ... won 25 of final 27 matches, including 17 in a row to close season ... claimed open championships at the Nittany Lion Open, "Shorty" Hitchcock Memorial Classic, Messiah Open, Simonson Construction Open and Edinboro Open ... won two matches at the Midlands Championships ... recorded four pins and 10 major decisions, went 18-5 in decisions.

Before Maryland: Lettered four years in wrestling and two in football for the Bulls ... won four state championships in wrestling in four different weight classes ... was also all-district linebacker two years in football.
