LANDOVER, Md. - Freshman Jason Allen continued his strong debut to his first collegiate indoor track and field season by capturing his second men's long jump competition in as many weeks Saturday, highlighting University of Maryland performances at the Terrapin Invitational, held at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.

Freshman Lindsay Ritchings also won for the Terrapins on Saturday, finishing in 5:00.67 in the women's mile to beat Andrea Rovegno of Loyola by nearly two seconds. Ritchings' time qualified her for the ECAC meet in early March. Maryland senior Laurel Jefferson was third in 5:07.19.

Allen won the men's long jump for the second straight week, taking first place Saturday with a jump of 23 feet, 7.25 inches. He won by nearly a foot over Eugene Galloway of High Point. Allen also won the men's long jump last week at Virginia Tech in his collegiate debut.

For the Maryland men, senior Adam Durham also highlighted the day, finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles. Durham ran a personal-best 8.15 seconds in the final, losing only to Andrew Peresta of Hampton, who won in 8.09. Durham's mark gave him a spot in the IC4A meet and was the fifth-best mark all-time indoors in the event.

Dominic Berger posted an IC4A-qualifying mark in the 60-meter dash, finishing fifth in 6.93. Freshman Tommy Friscia, junior Sean Lowe and sophomore Josh Davis finished 3-4-5 for the Terrapins in the men's 800. Junior Toni Aluko placed second in the women's high jump at 5-7 and in the triple jump at 38-4.25, while David Edwards-Brennan was second for the Terps in the men's high jump at 6-8.

Katie Rogus posted the ninth-best mark in the same event. Williams later came back to place eighth at 200 meters.
