Terps in 5th After Two Rounds at Terrapin Challenge

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - The University of Maryland women's golf team completed two rounds today at the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge in Miami, Florida.

Senior Christine Shimel led the Terps with two consecutive scores of 73, and is currently tied for sixth. Junior Emily Gimpel also had a solid outing, recording a 150 after two rounds.

Maryland is fifth in team standings with the final round of the tournament at Shula's Golf Club to conclude tomorrow. North Carolina State currently leads the field with the top three golfers including Brittany Marchand, who sits at (-4) after two rounds. Florida International is a close second with a combined team score of 591.
