COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Freshman guard Seth Allen suffered a fractured bone in his shooting hand and will miss the remainder of the postseason, head coach Mark Turgeon announced Monday.
Allen, who averaged 7.8 points per game while playing in 36 games this season, suffered the injury during practice on Sunday. Allen had come on strong lately, scoring in double figures in four of Maryland's five postseason games.
"I feel bad for Seth because he's really been playing well," said Turgeon. "It's a big blow to us because of the way he's been playing, but it just gives other guys the opportunity to step up."
Allen will travel with the team to Tuscaloosa and see a specialist upon Maryland's return home.
