COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's soccer celebrated team another tremendous season Sunday at its end of season banquet at the University golf course.
The Terps were honored for their ACC championship at the beginning of the men's basketball game before heading to the golf course for a celebratory banquet with team supporters and family.
2012 Team Highlights
Maryland boasted the top offense in the country in 2012, totaling 64 goals while averaging a stellar 2.67 goals per match.
With a 14-0-1 record to start the 2012 season, Maryland matched its best start since the 1968 season when the Terps were co-national champions.
A crowd of 7,340, the second highest in Maryland soccer history, saw a quality win against North Carolina, featuring the top-ranked teams in the country.
Not one player on the Terrapin roster started every match and the squad's scoring was divided up by a nation-best 16 players. A total of 22 players notched a goal and/or an assist in 2012.
Patrick Mullins won Maryland's second ever MAC Hermann Trophy.
Maryland has now had at least one player selected in the MLS SuperDraft for 10 straight years. All three seniors are currently with MLS clubs.
First ever ACC regular season and tournament championship in same season at Maryland.
Ended the season with a 20-1-3 overall record . Maryland's .896 winning percentage was the best in the NCAA.
