COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland wrestling team completes its Atlantic Coast Conference dual schedule on Sunday, Feb. 12, when the Terps (13-1, 3-1 ACC) take on Duke at 1 p.m. in Comcast Pavilion. With a win, the Terps would clinch a share of the conference regular season title.
The Terps will honor eight seniors before the start of the meet. On Sunday, the Terps will celebrate the careers of Matt Bogusz, Joey Boone, Ryan Gray, Kyle John, Brian Marcoux, Shawn Mazzarone, Corey Peltier and Owen Smith.
Maryland features five wrestlers currently ranked in InterMat's top-20 led by second-ranked Josh Asper (165). The Parkton, Md., native is 22-0 with five technical fall victories which leads the team.
At 197, fifth-ranked Christian Boley leads the Terps with 27 victories including 13 dual wins. Boley has only dropped one match this season. It came against top-ranked Byron Tate of Division III Wartburg College at the Midlands Championships.
Spencer Myers, ranked eighth at 285, recently returned to action for Maryland. Myers is 18-5 and 5-1 in dual competition.
Jimmy Sheptock has risen to 13th in country at 174. Sheptock is 4-0 in ACC matches and with a victory will most likely clinch the top seed at next month's ACC Championships.
At 157, 19th-ranked Kyle John has recorded a pin in two of his last four dual victories.
