Acosta got on with another bunt single for runners on the corners, and Lindsey Schmeiser smacked one to left to make it 5-0. Beads got on with a single to load the bases, and Newton stepped up to score all three runs off a huge hit to center. Melissa Mancuso brought in Newton with a sac fly to make it 9-0 after four.

In her five innings of work, sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Schmeiser allowed two hits, two walks with two strikeouts to hole the Eagles scoreless in the first game.

In the second inning, Mancuso got on with a bunt single, then Corey Schwartz bunted her to second. She moved to third on a fly ball to right by Strange. McCann was hit by a pitch for runners on the corners. Mancuso stole home as McCann stole second for a 4-0 lead. Coppin State (8-17, 3-3 MEAC) scored its run in the top of the fourth. Cheyenne Gerber drew a leadoff walk, then was bunted to second and went to third on a base hit. Victoria Lopez made it 7-1 with another sacrifice bunt.

The Eagles added two more runs in the top of the seventh. With runners on second and third with no outs, the Terrapins forced an out at home on a fielder's choice, Nicole Boggs score one run. With the bases loaded and one out, McCann caught a foul ball in left for the second out, but another run would score off an error. Freshman Madison Martin struck out Lauren Rogers with two on for the final out.
